My Reflection about P.E.S

After 8 years my journey at Pt England School has now come to an end. From being a tiny 5 year old to a much taller, bigger, smarter, and mature 13 year old. My next step in life will be going to Epsom girls college. This is the end of intermediate and primary but the start of a new journey.

Starting of as a 5 year old, I didn't know much about about school. I thought is was a place where you could play. I was lucky I had Brooklyn from kindergarten with me when I started school but the fact of seeing other people that I've never meet before scared me. After a couple of weeks I started to feel more comfortable around everyone and made many friends.

As the years went by I started to understand a lot more things like tying my shoes and being respectful to other people. I became smarter everyday and enjoyed learning new things. I was also at the age where I was able to participate in sports. Netball the sport I played most.

I got the final year of primary(year 6). Being a senior meant I got a lot more opportunity's to make movie, play sports and even become a leader of the school. Also with the help of the Manaiakaialani trust our school was able to get netbooks for year 5- year 14 students in our cluster. In year 6 we also got to go to camp at Kawai Island. I was one of the best camps I ever been to.

My final 2 years were the best years in school. I was now in intermediate. Which meant we were top of school and had to be good role models for the juniors like how they were for us when we were juniors. We had new classes built just for us with more space for us to play in and enjoy our time with friends.

I would like to thank all of the teachers and students at P.E.S. For giving me many opportunity to grow and for teaching me to be the best person i possibly can be. Especially the teacher that had me in their class. Without you I wouldn't be the person I am now. So thank you so much!

Netbook Reflection

Having the opportunity to use a netbook is really cool. I've had my netbook for about 3 years and have learnt many things along the way such as maths, reading, writing and many more. Having a netbook at such a young age gives us a good start for the future. I enjoy using a netbook.

With a netbook that means no more scrunched up pieces of paper or work that has gone missing. It also helps us to work individually and not always rely on our teachers as much as we used to.

Learn, create, share is one of our main focus for this year with netbooks. We create lots of things like movies, music, animation and stories. We also get the chance to post it on our very own blog so that everyone in the world can see our work. If we had books the only people that see it, are our teachers, family and friends.

Google is the main site we use. We have our own google accounts which stores all our work. Our account gives us access to things like google docs, gmail, google sites and many more.

The things that I have mostly improved this year is using interesting vocab, proofreading and edit my work and pronounce words I didn't know how to. Netbooks are a fun and interesting way to learn.

Prizegiving

The hall was packed full of parents and kids, waiting for the 2013 Senior Prize giving to start. This was the last Prize giving for me and all the other year 8s. At prize giving we were going to perform a Item and some people would be getting awards.

The were awards like best effort, 100% attendance, citizenship, sport awards and many more awards.

My highlight of the night was watching all of the everyone perform. They year 5s were dancing to the Pitch Perfect songs(Price tag,I've got the magic an Who run the World girls). The year 6 item was my favourite item. They did Skrillex, Trouble maker and Bibles in the air.The year 7s acted and dance to Prince Of Bel Air. We dance to Like a boy,Started from the bottom and also sang stand by me.

I really enjoyed prize giving even though I didn’t get an award.

Year 8 Camp Reflection

My bags were packed and I was ready to go. Us year 8’s were going to a camp called Keswick in rotorua. That meant a 4-5 hour drive from Auckland.

As soon as we got to camp we unpacked our bags into our cabins. We also had a bit of free time to get to know the area before we went to a bush walk the was 3.8 km. It was very tiring but was fun seeing all of the awesome scenery.

A day had gone past and now we were well into our activities for each day. Our first activity was to go to a show called the agrodome. The agrodome was about the different types of sheep we have in New Zealand, we also saw tricks that involved the sheep, dogs, and ducks. We also went to see a geyser called Lady Knox. With our last activity for the day the Thermal Hot pools.

On day 3 we were going to swim in the blue lake. It was cold but after a while I got used to it. After that we went to the hot pools and swam again. At the hot pools they had a trampoline the we could jump on to get higher while jumping in the pool.

We came to the last day of camp which for my favourite highlight of the camp. We went to the luge were we went up the gondola. Going up the gondola was a bit boring because of the long ride up but the view was full of nature and nice scenery. Once we arrived up top we waited to go down the luge. The luge ride was fun and exciting, it was the best part of camp.

Narative Animals

I scanned the area and all I saw was the wreck from the plane I was flying in. ”Hello anyone here?” I screamed in my highest voice. My voice echoed but no one replied. All I could remember was the pilot saying we would be going through a rough landing. I was supposed to be going to Hawaii.

Exotic plants and distinctive smells surrounded me. I had no idea where I was. I grabbed things that would become useful from the plane and decided to explore this unknown place.

Things looked the same in every direction. I carried on walking hopping i would find shelter.Thinking of finding shelter made stomach rumble. Lots of things were going through my mind.
I stumbled on rocks and fell into a pitch black cave.My heart started beating I didn’t know what was going to happen. I fell to the ground with my face in my hands. All I wanted to do was cry.I sat there. After a while I got up and leaned against the wall.I hit a switch and saw a wall full of hieroglyphics. It showed my directions to different places in the world.I saw hawaii and read where to go.

All I had to do was follow a cave turn left and in about 2km I would have reached the edge of the island. I was full of excitement. All of that for nothing. But its was a good experienc

ONE DIRECTION :)

One direction is a boy band, created by Simon Cowell on X Factor. In 2010 they  made it to the top 3 but were sadly eliminated. There names are Louis, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan,Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. They signed a contract with Simon Cowell record label Syco records.Their first song is called What Makes You Beautiful and have made many more songs. Most of their songs have been rated 1st best track in the world. They are also known as the top boy band in the world, winning many teenagers hearts.

Narrative about Life In Auckland vs Syria

I dragged myself out of bed and got ready to go to school. Before I went to school, I had brushed my teeth, washed my face, got changed and made my lunch. After all of that I jumped in the car and was on my way to school.

I was awaken by a gust of cold air. Our house didn’t have any insulation so our house was always cold. Goose bumps covered my body. I heard gunshots and people screaming in horror. This happened everyday, but there was nothing I could do about it. Staying in bed until it was over was what I decided to do.

At lunchtime we ate our lunch and went outside to play, enjoying the sunshine. I could hear sounds of happiness and people laughing. It was also a good time to catch up with friends.

It was now lunchtime and my stomach was grumbling and growling like tigers. The only thing that was going through my mind was the thought of food and what my mum and siblings were eating. Or if they were eating. “Why did life have to be so hard” I thought to myself?

I got dressed into my pajamas and jumped into my warm cozy bed.” Goodnight” my Mum whispered after closing the door. I said a little prayer and then shut my eyes. Today had been a great day and I was so thankful to have such a great life.

Night had fallen. I had nowhere to sleep because so many people lived in our house. The only place free was by the door that had fallen down. The last time I slept there I felt like I was in a freezer. I moved closer towards my mother and used her body heat to keep me warm. Tonight would be another sleepless night, just like every other night in Syria.

Year 8's

Sadly this term will be the last term for the year.Which also means this is the last term for me, and all the other year 8s because we will be going to college next year.I have been at Pt England ever since I was 5. I am now 13.

One of the reason's im sad to leave is because we will be leaving our teachers and also our friends. Pt England Is an amazing school and it will be hard to say goodbye to everyone. Hopefully college will be as loving and as caring as this school.

We only have about 9 weeks until l this term is finished.

Next year I am going to Epsom girls. Also no one from Pt England is going to Epsom so it will be a change having no one that you know going with you. Which makes me even more scared going to college.

So for now GOODBYE PT ENGLAND!

D.L.O Reflection

Brooklyn & Ash DLO from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.

For our DLO we made a movie about Princess Diana’s Death. The purpose of making this movie was to inform people about  how Princess Diana died. We got into a group of 3. I was with Huelo Ata and Brooklyn.

What did we do well?
The things we did well was that we finished the movie on time.
What could I do better next time?
We should’ve but in a photo of princess Diana because there was no photo of her. The news background was too babyish. Also Huelo-ata was talking while I was talking in the small picture

Because we finished on time we got the opportunity to fix up the movie and turn out negatives into positives.

I think it was a good experience because we found out a lot of information about Princess Diana.

Term 3 highlight

This term has gone very fast and there were heaps of fun memories. I have many highlights from this term. But my favourite would have to be about our dance crew Insanity, the production that is coming up,our netball shared lunch and basket training from kiwi sport.

Our netball shared lunch was celebrated with our other 12 netball teams. We got together in the hall and sat down in our team lines. We also had to sing a song to get food. We joined up with year 8 team 2. We sang Dora The Explorer. There were 4 tables full of food.It was delicious.

My next highlight is our dance insanity. It is a dance crew made up by us year 8’s, and we are performing in the school production 60’s The Quest. We are dancing to freeze-Chris Brown and Tpain, Turn up the music-Chris Brown and Kiss Kiss by Tpain and Chris Brown.

This term has being heaps of fun. It has flown by fast and I can’t wait to start next term.

Technology Routation

Every Tuesday and Thursday we(year 7 and 8s) get the opportunity to go down to Tamaki collage for Technology. We are focusing on 3 subjects Hard Materials, Food and Graphics. So far I have been in two rotations(Hard Materials and Graphics). The final rotation is my favourite Food!

For the first term I went to graphics. The graphics teacher name is Mr Nobel. We made posters and drew pictures. We also used a compass to help us draw perfect circles.

For the second rotation we made a necklace out of pewter. We had to make a template out of wood. Then cut it out. My template was a turtle and I was making it for my mum. After the pewter was poured into the template we had to file it and sandpaper it. Then the teacher Mr Grundy polished it for us.Then it was ready.

I think going to Tamaki college for technology is a good because we get to learn new things and use machinery. Its also helps us year 8's learn more since were going to college next year.

Cross Country

As we got to the court we saw everyone lined up in their age groups. We joined our age group, and waited. It was a beautiful day. The house captains were on the field cheering for their house. The house colours are Takitimu (yellow), Te Arawa (Red),Matatua(Green), Tainui (Blue).I'm in Takitimu. Each age group went up the the start line and were let go to run their race. Its started off with the 5 year olds all the way to the year 8s. Time went very fast when watched the other kids run. When it was our turn to run we lined up on the starting line. All I could think about was running and how long it would take.”On your mark get set err err “ was the sound off the siren. Then we were off. Everyone started sprinting and i didn’t want to start of being last so i just sprinted to. The hot blazing sun didn’t help it just made me feel really tired. The mud didn’t help it was slippery and muddy. We even had the choice of going through the mud slide that Miss Walters and Mrs King was standing by and taking photos. There we all massive puddles full of water as we got further down the track. We had to do 2 laps.

Bronwyn Brown

Bronwyn Brown. You may not have heard of her before but she studied food technology at Massey University. She came to our school to talk to us about sports and our daily life nutrition. The reason why is because this term we are studying about healthy food and being fit for life! Her job at Tip Top was all about tasting and creating new flavoured ice cream. Now she works for Horleys (sport nutrition products). Her very first job was at Tip Top ice cream and she was involved in the development and launch of many ice cream products. She also worked for Fonterra which makes dairy products. This term, she came to our school and talked to us about her job at Horleys and the kind of food she works with. We really appreciated her coming to our school and we just wanted to say and very big ‘Thank You!’

Should Pt England be a single gender school?

Should Pt England be a single gender school? I think that Pt England is amazing just the way it is because everyone co operates together well. Girls would have much more drama than usual and cause more problems which will turn into fights which teachers will have to deal with. Also girls like to gossip behind peoples back and say things that are not true to each other. But the good thing about having an all girls school is that girls would be able to concentrate more and be more confident because boys wouldn't mock them. Also if it was an all boys school boys would probably start more fights or see who the toughest in the school is. Some boys love to show off a lot which can make people jealous. They would be groups of popular people and non-popular people. But the good thing about having an all boys school is that the boys wouldn't be distracted and they could have a chance to be friends with everyone because they're all boys. There are some things that boys can do but girls can’t and, things that girls can do but boys can’t. But once again I like our school just the way it is.

Fairy tale (3 Little Pigs,Cinderella,Little Red Ridding Hood)

“Yeah! Wolf is here now. Lets get this party started” said one of the little pigs. They had invited their friends over to celebrate wolfs 21st birthday. Everybody was dancing and enjoying themselves except for one pig .He was sitting in the corner alone. His eyes started to drop and he fell asleep. He had a dream about the wolf being best friends with the pigs and that he would be all left alone. He quickly woke up and realised that no one was there. They had left him. A flicker of anger came across his eyes and at that moment he realized that he would be one of the pigs brothers but the wolfs worst enemy.

After the party, Little Red Riding Hood’s dad told her to take a basket to her grandmother. The basket was full of goodies but there was someone behind the tree who really wanted to have it, it was the  wolf. He had just finished coming from the three little pigs party and now he wanted Little Red. He followed her all the way to the middle of the forest until he saw the two little pigs and knew that there was something wrong.

After a 30 minute walk, the evil pig had seen a little cottage and remembered that it was grandmas house. The pig knocked on the door loudly and when grandma answered the door. Sadly the pig ate her. He puts on grandma's clothes and jumped into her bed. Red Riding Hood opens the door and saw grandma on the bed. “Hey, grandma why are you so fat?” I ate a lot when I was on the trip” replied Grandma. “Why is your nose so big?” “I had plastic surgery” said Grandma. “Why are you so pink?” “Just Give Me The Basket!” The Evil Pig Shouted “Ok here it is grandma” said Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red knew something was wrong, “Knock Knock!” Someone was knocking on the door. Little Red opened the door and it was their friend, the wolf. “ Don’t give her the basket!!” he said, but it was too late. In the basket was Cinderella's glass slipper. All along the wolf wanted Red Riding Hood because she had mistaken his basket with  hers. ..........

Creativity Reflection

We felt very excited yet annoyed at each other because we all had different ideas. It was pretty fun doing this task because we got to work with who we wanted to.

The thing that we found most interesting was when we had to pick a Michael Jackson song which was very difficult. Then finally we found a song.

The things that we didn’t enjoy was when we had to animate parts of the movie. It was pretty hard because we are very bad at drawing.

What we did enjoy was when we had to film the movie and look at the finished product. I think that our movie would be very cool.

The thing that we learnt during this task was co-operating properly with each other. It was very fun doing this together.

The thing we have to work on next time is to plan better. We wasted alot of time so there is another thing to work on as well. ``

Perspective student

It was a treacherous climb for him up the sheer rock face. But he had determination and perseverance and was very eager to reach the top. With all of his might he pulled himself up, then glanced back remembering all the frustration and agony it took. Up ahead he noticed a karate dojo, he felt relieved, to realize that his search had come to an end.

After a little walk he finally reached his destination. The Martial Art School.Feeling apprehensive  he knocked on the hefty door and, to his surprise he saw and old man. His heart started beating because, he didn’t know what he was going to do to him.But he just pointed to his right and slammed the door behind him got rejected.

Dropping his shoulders he felt very depressed and didn’t know what to do next. When suddenly he clicked. He thought he would impress him by meditating but once again he pointed to his right again and slammed the door behind him. So he just got up and left.

In a flicker of anger he clenched his fists and had a very determined look on his face. He kicked the door open and showed him some karate move that he had been working on.Once again he pointed to his left so the boy looked.

When he looked he found out he was pointing to a sign that said please use the side entrance. He looked really embraced. All along he was trying to tell him to use the side entrance.

Participating in the 20 hour famine

At 6:30 we all arrived at the school library, eager to go hard out for the hungry! I put my belongings on the side and made my name tag out of blue paper because this year I was in the blue team. We also got a sticker that had our names on it as well. We had started our famine at 12pm (just before lunch) on Friday.

The 20 hour famine is a program to fundraise for the unfortunate kids in Bougainville,  Papua New Guinea. We would be going 20 hours without food just to experience what it is like for them everyday.

After everyone arrived we got into our team colours. The team colours were blue, yellow, red, green. Our first task for the night was to get into our group and make up a little chant that we were going to perform. After a while Mrs Tela called us all to get into our group lines for our first game for the night. We were playing Charades followed by Pictionary, which kinda failed because the youth ambassadors arrived earlier than expected. They came  to tell us more information about what why we were doing the 20 hour famine and what it really means.

They organised a game a little bit like the amazing race but instead it all about us experiencing the life in Bougainville. We had 4 checkpoints and they were Water, food, education and making a house. This was to show how they live and the difference from how we live.

I would like to thank Devyn and the world vision youth ambassadors who had come to visit our school to tell us more information about the famine. It was heaps of fun meeting you guys and also playing with you.I hope you had just as much fun as I did.

Argument about Smoking

I agree that smoking is very bad and should be banned. One because it affects our body and two it cost heaps of money when you could save that money, and use it on something else you want. It also has things that are really bad for our body. It has over 4000 chemicals that your body can not agree with but it have a very addictive drug called nicotine.

You have a higher chance of getting sick if you smoke then people that don’t smoke. You also get things like heart disease and lung cancer are the main things in smoking. Also parts of you body starts to rot.You get things like yellow fingernails, yellow teeth and a whole lot more

But some people smoke to relax but inside your body it is trying to get rid of all the harsh chemicals. Also the drug nicotine is a very addictive drug that affects your brain.

I reckon that the world without smokes would be a better and safer place.

Tyrese's First Rippa Rugby Game

“Yah go Tyrese” I called out from the sideline. He was played rippa rugby on friday. They were playing on the tennis courts because the fields we closed from all of the rain. Before the game they had a little training teaching them to pass the ball.

After their training they put their bets and there tags on and got ready to play. They we playing against the other marist team so it was more of a friendly game.

They whistle blew and it was time to start the game. They followed them trying to rip their tags off. They looked like they were having lots of fun.

At the end of the game they shook hands and go ready to see who the player of the day would be.”And the player is...Tyrese”said they coach.”Yah good boy Tyrese” I said. He got a certificate and crunchie chocolate bar.

Trip To Omapere

After a 4 and half hour drive we finally made it to omapere. We were staying in a little apartment that was just across the road from the beach. We also had a balcony that had a had a great view of the sea. We were staying there for 4 days.

My highlight of the holiday was going onto the sand dunes. If you don’t know what the sand dunes are the sand dunes are hills that are made out of sand. You also get a boogie board so you can slide down and if you want you can slide into the water. Its a lot of fun.

When I went down I skidded across the water. The water was freezing it felt like i was in a freezer. It was also very tiring going up the sand dunes but so much fun going down. We stayed there for an hour and got picked up by the people the people that dropped us of.

On Monday we had to go to My mums friends wedding. They were getting married in a little church. It was a good little service. After the wedding we went to the reception. Te reception was at a Marie

It was heaps of fun and I hope we can go there again.

What Really In Our Food (Eggs)

New Zealanders eat about 920,000,000 eggs per year.  89% of the eggs we eat come from caged hens. Caged hens never see the light of the sun. There are often 6 hens in each cage. Cages are on an angle so the eggs roll down. Caged hens don’t have enough space to move.

Free range eggs have a big outside space to flap their wings, run around make a nest. Every now and then they have a dust bath. They eat grass and chicken feed. But only 9% of our eggs come from free range hens.

Eggs are easy for our body to digest and have lots of protein. Most people think that most of the protein is in the white part of egg. But the yolk is where most of the protein is. Just because we have 2 colours of eggs (brown and white) there is no nutritional difference between them.

The other 2% of eggs come from barns. In a barn they have unlimited food and water. They lay eggs where ever they want and at night time people pick them up to take to a conveyor belt.

The conveyor belt is a machine that scans a light though the eggs to see if it has any blood spots.

Will I Am coming to Our school

My eyes lit up when Mr Burt said the one the only Grammy-award winning hip hop artist was coming to our school. He has made many albums and has recorded songs with people like Justin Beiber,Usher, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake and a whole lot more artist. He was also I a group called the Black Eyed Pea’s. There were media camera’s everywhere so we knew that this was big and we had to be on our best behavior

Yes its the one the only Will I Am. He wasn’t just coming to say hi he came to give us $100 000 00 for new equipment for our school. He also told us a bit of his background story and how he grew up. We also gave him a  green stone to show our appreciation.

The senior hip hop group and kapa haka group we able to perform for him to. Also other people from other schools came because they would be getting their share of the money as well

IT was a great experience and a big thanks to Will I Am for coming.

This term has been heaps of fun and I can’t wait for Term 2.

Easter

What do you think the significance of Easter means to you? To me I think that the true meaning of Easter about how Jesus was crucified. He was nailed to the cross slowly dieing. After that they also put him in a tomb and covered it with a large rock so no one could get in. After 3 days he resurrected. Jesus died on the cross to sacrifice himself for us, and take away our sins. Thats why we celebrate Easter.

That also meant that we had a long week end of with 5 days of school. But the days went past so fast. It felt just like a normal week end. Not only was it a long week end it was 5 days of eating chocolate and yummy hot cross buns.

Also we we left school on Thursday the whole school were lucky enough to get a packet full of Easter eggs. They were donated to us from Variety Club. It was a great way to start our Easter Holiday.

On friday since there was no school my brothers and  I ended up playing outside for the whole day with my neighbours. We rode on our scooters and were lucky enough to go into their house and play Black Ops. My neighbours names are Shane, Jacob and Quaye. It gave our mum a chance to relax.

The weekend went fast but at the same time it was a nice holiday. We were even lucky enough to get Easter Eggs. I got a ferrero rocher bunny and also a big Dairy Milk  egg with little eggs included.  It was heaps of fun.

Harlem Shake!

Most people are asking what the harlem shake is, and how do you do the Harlem Shake. It is a dance, a dance where you act like a lunatic and go crazy. It has heaps of views and different videos on youtube. Check it out for yourself.

Our class had the opportunity to make our very own harlem Shake video, with the help of our teacher. With costumes, masks, umbrellas. It was crazy we all looked like lunatics but I guess thats the whole point of the dance. It was heaps of fun. After editing the movie it looked really cool.

If I could change anything about the Harlem Shake? I reckon Its perfect just the way it is and so AWESOME! Its probably one of the craziest dances ever!

If you search up Harlem Shake on youtube you will notice there are heaps of covers and different people who made their own Harlem Shake Video too. Also some video’s are set in some weird places like underwater, skydiving and even in in meetings. Even Barack Obama has a video of him doing the Harlem Shake.

Check Out Our Class Harlem Shake

Auckland Champs

Yah we have Auckland Champs today. We get to spend another day out of class and go to Wesley intermediate. We were challenging teams that won the eastern zone tournament. If we won not only would we be Auckland Champs we would advance to Nationals.

Our first game wasn’t a win but it was a good game. As we were walking down to our next game I was talking to Huelo-Ata. “Do you think we're going to win this next game” I asked. She said she didn’t know. Our next opponents were called Mansel.

It was a very challenging game and was a lot of fun at the same time. Sadly we didn’t win this game either, but it was a good experience.

After playing 5 games we ending up winning 1 game and lost 4 games. That put us in 7th place. Meaning we game 7th in Auckland.

Homeless Lady Narrative

Looking out the car window I noticed a homeless solitary figure. Beside her she had oversized bags filled to the brim, filled with old scruffy clothes. She had a tin full of food scraping every last drop. She was wearing a ragged red and black tartan skirt with a large waterproof jacket and old worn shoes.

I felt really sorry for her. I wonder if she had anyone to look after her. She must feel abandoned and hopelessness. As she was just sitting there she was looking at people go past her hoping someone would lend her money or food.

Suddenly I saw some people go up to her and started to talk to her. Her eyes lit up and started to smile at them. They also gave her some food and money. Then they sat next to her. They must know her. As long as she was happy now.

On our way back from the shops I looked in the spot she was sitting at and noticed she wasn’t there any more. I wonder if she was in a better place.

A Special Vist From Stks

Today we had a special performance from a guy who calls himself Stks. He is very talented, he played the guitar and sang to us. Some of us joined in and sang with him. He has an amazing voice. ClICK HERE to hear him sing.

Going To Rainbows End

“So which ride should we go on first “ said Huelo-Ata excitedly to me. We had just arrived at Rainbows end the, theme park in Auckland. This was my 2nd time going to Rainbows end, the last time I went was when I was 3 years old with my parents, but I don’t remember anything. This time I could enjoy it going with my friend Huelo-Ata. It was her birthday and thats why we were going. We got our passes and headed of the the ride we were going to on first. The Invader!

While waiting in line I could already feel the butterflies in my stomach. Just looking at the it looked scary, but at the same time looked kinda fun. As we went onto the ride i couldn’t wait for it to start. It was like a spaceship spinning in the mid air, I felt like I was flying.

After going on all the rides we had 1 last ride to go on, the FEAR FALL!  A 80 meter drop. The scariest ride at Rainbows End. Hardly goes on the ride because its so high and you drop really fast. But we were going on it. Just by waiting in line I got butterflies. But we didn’t need to wait for long because their were only 4 people in front of us.

Finally it was our turn. Just sitting on the ride waiting was scary. As we reached the top we could see a lot of thing. It was a good view until, we dropped. It felt like my stomach was in my head. It was the most scariest ride i have been on in my life. But it was cool being able to experience it.

It was heaps of fun. I hope I can go again one day.

My softball Experiance

"Catch the ball" screamed everyone. It was the beginning of our softball tournament and we were fielding against Tamaki's softball team. We were lucky we were allowed to go and play softball for the whole day. Not only that but we were challenging all of the schools from east. Also if we won we would be going to Auckland Champs. Looking at all the team that were playing, they looked very competitive. We were all up for a challenge not only to win but to represent our school.

After 2 innings we found out it was a tie 4-4. Even though we didn't win it was better than losing and it was good for our first game. We did 3 cheers for them and them moved on to our next opponents, St Heliers. At the end of the pool matches, we ended up winning 2 games and drawn 2 but never lost a game which means we advanced into the quarter finals.

Finally Playing in the quarter finals against St Thomas, we were also playing against an old friend Teresa. She used to come to our school. We were all desperate to win this game. Luckily after the second innings we won. Finally to the finals against the hardest team in east, Bailey Road. They are known as the undefeated champs for years.

As we lined up we found out we were batting first. Both Jaylee and Rita got a home run. Up next was me. Everyone was counting on me to hopefully get a home run. Butterflies started to appear in my stomach. First try i got was a strike and then another strike if i got one more strike i would be out and that meant it would be side away. Finally on the last pitch i was lucky enough to get a single. Also we ended up winning 3-0. That meant we were going to AUCKLAND CHAMPS!! and so was our year 7 girls team. It was the first year having 2 teams competing on the same day sat auckland champs.
