Why Do Babies Need More Sleep Then Grown Ups?

Babies require more sleep then adults
.The smaller the baby, more sleep they need.

All babies do,is really sleep and eat.Babies grow quickly when they sleep.Young children grow to but,not as fast.Even though children don’t grow as fast they still need more sleep then adults.

Grown up need sleep to rest their body's.Every time they sleep cells in their body that are worn are being replaced. As long as they have enough sleep they will have enough energy to work the next day.

The bodies for grown up mainly need food for energy. But babies and children need food, to help make their bones and muscle's strong. It also gives chides energy because they start, running and playing around the age of 2 years and up.

Spartans

The Spartans lived in a town in the Ancient Greece. They were well known because of their honesty, courage and, their loving freedom.

Boys at the age 7 were taken away from their parents, because they were going to be trained for war. They left their hair to go long but when they grew up they ended up being policemen and soldiers.

The Spartans fought all the time, for them self or for the other city that would pay them. The field and city’s were done by some men and women that got captured by people called Helots.

Women in Sparta were very tough. As they liked to fest and celebrate when their son have died, in a brave and courage's way.But when their son came home and they have been defeated in their battle they ended up killing them.

Year 5 and 6 School Camp

Yes the time finally arrived. It’s camp week! I was packed and ready waiting for us to start our activities.

The first place we went to was Swimarama. As we entered the pools I was excited because,we could go on the hydro-slide when it was our turn on and we could also have a swim.I got to go on the hydro slide I was excited but I had goose bumps. We all waited patiently in a line.Like the water going down the water slide I went really fast slipping and sliding with the water splashing into my face.

Now we got to see our tents. We saw all the tents. It was a little tent city.We started to move our bags and squeeze them into our temporary camp homes. But the wall's of my temporary house seemed to be flimsy.I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to sleep in the tent because when it rained I properly would get wet.

I was am a little tired but I was ready for the day.We had 3 activities that we were going to do.The activities were Kayaking,Cooking and Orienteering.

My favorite activate was Kayaking. It was fun except a little hard paddling it.Their were 2 types of Kayaks one was a single and the other was a double so two people can go on at the same time. At first I went in a single.I found it quite easy. But when I went in a double it was kind of difficult.I fell over once though.

One of my other favorite activate was Orienteering.I was a cool experience with using the Compass.Although I found out that you had to do it accurately and don’t rush at doing it.The aim of the game was that we had to us the compass and we turn it to what it tell us to turn it on and once it showed us where to go we and to follow it.

I felt a bit tired after doing Kayaking and Orienting properly because,I didn’t have a really good sleep. But we did have one more actives on our agenda. The actives was cooking with Miss Flavel and Miss Mitchel.

Yum for cooking we were going to make afghans. We followed the recipe though. It was fun mixing all of the ingredients toghter. Just like other biscuits we put them in the oven and waited, for them to cook.It took about 15-20 minutes.

Camp was a cool experience.Being able to sleep in tents, kayaking,Swimerama,Cooking and playing a game called Squash.I had a lot of fun.

The Sad Japan Earthquake

http://tvnz.co.nz/world-news/japan-quake-another-chernobyl-unlikely-4061904
An extreme force of nature, hit the coast of Japan over the weekend. The people in Japan were all in terror. With no warning an Earthquake and a tsunami had hit them.It was a magnite 8.9 quake,a double disaster from the Earthquake in Christchurch.

It was a terrifying sight for everyone in the area of the Earthquake. They have been through alot of Earthquakes so some of the building's were made, for them to still stay standing during the Earthquakes. It was just of the coast of Japan not to close to Tokyo. The Earthquake caused thousands of people to evacuate from the place.

The tsunami was another force of nature. It was about 30 feet tall and about 10 meters. It was as tall as a wall of water.Sweeping everything in its way out to sea.Everything got scatted like toys. All most the whole coast of Japan was engulfed by water.

A lot of people in Tokyo deiced to depart to another place, because what had occurred to the people off the coast of Japan.some of the people in Tokyo were terrorized.

Playing Cricket

Yes I always wanted to learn how to play cricket with a pro cricket player. The people we will be training with are Hammit,Robert and Chris from the Auckland Cricket team. The one thing I wondered though was if I would be good at it.

We were all siting down listening attentively to Hammit as he was telling us how to do the front foot shot. The first instruction was that we had to get into groups of four, and go to the where the wickets. After we did that we had to hit the tennis ball in the middle of the 2 cones. I manged to hit the ball a little a meter a away from where I hit it,but I didn’t manage to hit it between the cones.

After we learn the front foot drive we manged to play a little game of cricket when you had to hit the ball and touch as much wickets as you can.As we got on the last player of the team it started to become a close score but they just passed out score. It a fun game. The score was very close.I had a lot of fun.

My Dad's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!! I said to him.” Thank you” he replied. It was an ordinary day because I still had to go to school, but I knew we were going to have a surprise for him after school. One out anyway he could relax.

After school we ended up having a special dinner. After a little while we were ready to have desert. For desert we were lucky because we got to have some chocolate mud cake.

The dinner was nice but I think one of the best thing was seeing my Dads smile.
